A Bow to Those Behind the Lens

As we wrap up another successful season here at Euroconnection we invited our suppliers, agents, and crew who helped carry us through another busy season to A33, a beautiful Cape Town space designed around the idea of slowing down, unplugging, and connecting with others. With its warm, lived-in atmosphere, it felt less like an event venue and more like being welcomed into a fellow South African's living room, a calm and comfortable setting that encouraged conversation. 

Surrounded by works from some of South Africa's most celebrated artists, the space provided the perfect backdrop for what the morning was really about: taking a moment away from schedules, call sheets, and inboxes to reconnect and actually meet the faces behind the endless emails and WhatsApp messages.

It was a small gesture in the context of a season filled with early call times, long shoot days, and the inevitable curveballs that come with production. But it felt important, because the people who joined us yesterday are the same people who showed up all season long. We of course were missing a few familiar faces who couldn't join us but were there in spirit.

Production has always been a collaborative craft, every campaign we deliver is the result of countless people working together: agents who make impossible timelines possible, suppliers who adapt when briefs change overnight, and crew members, caterers, runners, gaffers, producers, and everyone in between, who consistently bring their professionalism and commitment to set. Those contributions deserve more than a line at the bottom of an email.

To everyone who joined us, and to everyone who played a part in this season, whether you could make it or not, thank you. Euroconnection wouldn't be what it is without the people around us, and we never take that for granted.

As we start looking ahead to the next season, we're grateful for the relationships that make this industry what it is, and we look forward to filling the room again when it's time to do it all over once more.
