While Europe Melts, Cape Town is Just Warming Up

Updated: Jun 27

Right now, Europe is in crisis mode.

A heat dome has parked itself over Europe, sending temperatures to 40°C and above, breaking long-standing records across France, Spain, Portugal, the UK, and beyond.

Cape Town is a different story entirely.

We're in the middle of winter right now, and yes, that's exactly the point. While European summers push toward unworkable extremes, Cape Town's production season is still ahead of us.

Our summer runs from October through to April or May, bringing long golden days, stable light, and the kind of weather that makes directors and DOPs very happy.

When summer does arrive here, it arrives predictably. The Western Cape doesn't do heat domes. Our temperature range in peak summer sits comfortably between 25°C and 32°C, warm, bright, and entirely manageable.

The South-Easter keeps things moving, the city is built for outdoor life, and our production infrastructure is designed around making the most of every usable hour of daylight.

.

For international brands and production companies planning their next campaign shoot, the timing matters as much as the location.

Cape Town's summer season aligns with the Northern Hemisphere's winter, making it the natural escape hatch for productions that need reliable conditions, world-class crews, and a city that keeps moving no matter what.

Europe can keep its heat dome.

We'll be ready when you need us, our light and weather is ready to show of.
